EVA members Helen McKenna-Menges &
Nadia Mulder exhibit at 67 High Street, Edenbridge

Two EVA members are showing examples of their work at 67 High Street, Edenbridge.

Nadia Mulder, painter
Nadia, who lives in Four Elms, is nearing the completion of a BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree at Wimbledon College of Art, where she has specialised in painting.

The work is loosely based around the theme of landscape and the resonance it has in the human psyche, creating fantastical, quirky and sometimes sinister images.

The content of the work is underpinned by an ongoing investigation into the possibilities of painting in a contemporary art context.

Nadia has recently taken part in several group exhibitions such as the ‘Still Real’ art event at the Foundry, Old Street, London EC2 and at the annual Deutsche Post exhibition in the City of London.

In 2008 Nadia was the winner of the Prunella Clough Scholarship Award at Wimbledon College of Art.

Helen McKenna-Menges : Evoking the feel of a place
Helen graduated from Goldsmiths College, London Univ. in 1991 with a BA Joint honours degree in Fine Art and Art History, since then she has been painting land/seascapes and studies life drawing.

She spent much of her childhood by the sea in Cumbria and Scotland. She is primarily interested in places and things natural, how places are shaped by natural forces and folklore, the energy left behind in unpopulated places, natural rhythms, creating a response in the artist and the viewer of the painting alike.

Helen teaches drawing and oil painting technique in the Old Library at Chiddingstone Castle, she has work in collections in the UK and Europe. She lives in Chiddingstone with her husband three children and dog.
