Art Attack in Edenbridge

Eden Valley Artists (EVA) a new arts association, developed by a group of Edenbridge based artists as a result of the Eden Valley Initiative 2008-2012, has opened an exhibition in the windows of 67 High Street, Edenbridge. The building was formerly the old cinema and more recently an antiques showroom.

Regal Point, the current developers, have kindly made available the use of the two front windows of the shop to showcase the work of EVA – Niki Campbell, Shiv Duke, Mary McCarten, Sarah Medway and Jane Wharrad.

Eva’s purpose is to encourage networking and collaboration amongst artists in the Eden Valley area, supporting their development and raising the profile of the visual arts in the area. EVA aims to achieve this in a variety of ways, including holding networking meetings and forums and organising art displays in empty premises. In the longer term, EVA hopes to provide studios at reasonable rates and organise art events in the community.

The group intends to exhibit artwork that engages with people by displaying new work outside the traditional formal gallery space, thereby bringing art to the attention of a wider audience.
